EOTC Auckland Trip

Our DLU team trip to Auckland in August included a huge number of experiences, with overnight stays inside the Zoo, at a Backpackers, and inside the Maritime Museum. We went ice skating, spent a day at the War Memorial Museum, a day at MOTAT, and visited Rangitoto by ferry, and walked up to the top of the mountain. Our stay at the Maritime Museum included a night time cruise around the harbour, and a visit from Salty Sam. The Zoo allowed us to explore their environs at night, and we even fed the hippos. Our backpacker experience included dinner at the Atrium on Elliott foodhall with a $10 challenge, and a movie in Queen St- "Step Up 3". We had 89 students along for the ride, with 15 parents and teachers. The 3 classes rotated around the three sleeping venues but we shared our day time experiences together. A huge logistical exercise with nearly 100 people, bus travel, food, and places to visit. We even had SubWay and Pizza Hut delivering our lunches to the Museum, Ferry Building and MOTAT. Lots of fun and lots of learning!
